Yasuhiro MORINAGA

Yasuhiro Morinaga, a Japanese artist and ethnographer, engages in auditory culture of indigenous people. Throughout his particular interest in field research, Morinaga creates installations and performances, as well as publications. Morinaga published field recordings of gong music played by different indigenous groups in Southeast Asia, titled “Exploring Gong Culture of Southeast Asia (published by SubRosa)." In addition to his artistic works, Morinaga has worked on a number of Asian films and performing arts as a sound designer and music director. His approaches have often resulted in his presenting at international festivals. Currently, Morinaga lives in Portugal.
